A frequent question we get asked is “where is everyone traveling?” And it’s a great question – you don’t want to have FOMO (fear of missing out) on what could be a trendy travel destination. So, we’ve put together a list of the top ten places our Members are traveling to across the US so far this year based on our travel data:
10. LAS VEGAS
Whether it’s for gambling, shows, resorts, or fine dining, Las Vegas has something for everyone. Many of our Members use Las Vegas as a hub to start their Arizona or Utah National Park vacations, or to visit the Hoover Dam or Red Rock.
Music has been the common thread connecting the life of the city and people of Nashville. Members visit the city for its history and amazing music scene, including visits to the Grand Ole Opry.
More than just a banking center and hub for American Airlines, Charlotte has quickly become a booming city with an emergency brewery and culinary scene with trendy neighborhoods and plenty of outdoor activities.
Ranked as #6 on Fodor’s 2018 “Go List,” Memphis is a hot spot for blues and barbecue. Visit Beale Street or take a trip down to Graceland to round out your Memphis experience.
6. THE GRAND CANYON
This one seems like a no-brainer—it’s the true American vacation. Whether you experience the Grand Canyon from the North Rim or the more popular South Rim, it’s definitely something to check off your bucket list.
Along with the other two cities that make up the “Historic Triangle,” Jamestown and Yorktown, Williamsburg brings American history to life through living history that individuals of all ages will enjoy.
4. NIAGARA FALLS
A collection of three waterfalls that straddle the international border between the Canadian province of Ontario and New York State, Niagara Falls is a popular tourist destination that can be visited with or without a passport, though we recommend visiting the Canadian side for the best views and attractions.
3. YELLOWSTONE NATIONAL PARK
The world’s first (and arguably best known) national park is a top attraction because of its wildlife, natural beauty, and geothermal features—specifically the Old Faithful geyser.
2. MYRTLE BEACH
It’s the home of the traditional Atlantic Ocean beach vacation. Myrtle Beach has been a top vacation destination for AAA Members for years, and features 60 miles of coastline with stunning sunrises.
This one probably comes as no surprise—millions of visitors head to Orlando to visit Walt Disney World Resort, Universal Orlando Resort, Sea World, and more. Plus, it’s within an hour or two of both the Atlantic and Gulf beaches.
